A missed call at 3:00pm on a Monday. I called back and was answered by an Alex from Lifestyle Group.
I said I missed a call from them, she claimed to be giving away vouchers/coupons to people with mortgages. I indicated no interest and politely ended the call.

I called it to see who it was and on my bill I can see I was charged $1.39.. It's a scam and don't even try to call it back since they are obviously making money from it.
My theory is that there are agents working at Telstra who are in on it. My sim card is brand new so how can anyone have the number to it already? What's more there doesn't seem to be a whole lot that Telstra are doing about it which leads me to believe that there are people working on the inside there (e.g. Telstra offshore support in India) that are sending out our phone numbers to these scammers.

Yes, this is a weird spam number, they use a PBX to scramble their real number, I've tried to answer and it hangs up when I call back it says the number is disconnected. You block the number and they call on a different one, they always call after 6pm which is rude.
