    Got a call from this number yesterday and today. Told me they were from windows support team. I am in Australia, but didn't recognise the number. Realised it is a scam, so I played along. The call connection quality was terrible, so I asked for their direct desk number so I could call back. Refused to give it to me. Gave them a brothels phone number, and told them it was my mobile number.

    Called me back again really angry asking why did I stand them up. Told them sorry, I didn't recieve the call, you must have dialled wrong, and I wasn't in front of the computer now, so they will have to call me back. They agreed to call me back next day.

    Trying to decide what game to play with them next.

    They claimed to be from "Windows" and that there was a problem with my computer. I use Ubuntu at home. I have heard that there's a scam going around to try to trick you into saying "yes" so that they can use your voice to authenticate things. I just hung up at that point, so I don't have any more information to share.

    I got a call from this number (I live in FL and have no connection to Australia). I said "Hello?" and waited a few seconds and heard nothing so I hung up. Seems kinda sketchy to me.

    Got a call from this number, no voicemail left. I'm in Tennessee and have no contacts in Australia so this seems like a fishing attempt.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
