He replied "give me 30 minutes and I will prove this is not a scam, I will have the police at your door in 30 minutes" I laughed and said ok. He then said goodbye. I did have some pleasure in doing this. How dare they do this, hope they get caught, charged and thrown away.
Got a call from a Michael Henderson claiming to be from the ATO and requesting TFN. Gave this number to call back on. I figure the ATO should already have my TFN! He had an Asian accent.

I have always paid my tax every year and never prepared it myself. He had a foreign accent. Did not refer to me by name and it sounded scripted. Said it was about to go to court, I have never received any documentation in the mail, and as the ATO know who prepares my taxes and would have my personal details, I am sure they would have contacted me via these other avenues.

Next call around 3pm - 3.30 and said he was from ATO and that a tax matter in my name to be taken to court. I asked his name again and he said Michael Brown. When I said he sounded like Matthew Logan who had rung from Traffic reporting he hung up. These people can be very intimidating but don't fall for this rubbish.

The voice did not specifically refer to me or anyone in my house by name or leave any kind of reference number. I have tried calling the number but the call could not be connected. This has happened a number of times.

Same call. Same claim of tax evasion. American accent. Not plausible because language is wrong. Words such as "courthouse". Let me guess. If I call back, all my problems can disappear in exchange for a payment. I feel sorry for people who are stung by this.
