    This is RSPCA. they’re like the song that never ends. They NEVER stop ringing you. I understand them needing donations, or selling raffle tickets for fundraising. But they don’t seem to understand that driving a person crazy is not going to make you want to give them money. You’ll need to block their number.

    Didn't answer the call and they didn't leave a message. They've called me in the past but not recently. However, I'd only taken our cat to the vet yesterday, having booked the appointment online. I wonder if there's a link or am I just being paranoid. People can do so much with technology these days.

    Notified that a message was left but the recording was of background noise, maybe the operator didn’t know how to leave a message. Blocked.

    Third party organisation raising money on behalf of different charities (same number calls every so often seeking “donations” for different charities. Be aware these are not one of donations as the caller may make out, rather subscriptions that will be debited from your nominate card each month. These can be tricky to cancel so it’s best to avoid engaging at all.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
