Spam: Voice recording from 'Brenda' at ANZ.
I received a call from a recorded message claiming to be ‘Brenda’ from ANZ Bank. The call felt suspicious as it was purely a voice recording with no live agent to speak to.
I am really frustrated with these persistent calls. Even after blocking one number, they have started using others: (02) 8552 5383, 8552 5364, and 8552 5368, all claiming to be from ANZ Bank. I do not have an account with ANZ, and I am getting extremely tired of these scammers.
When I answered the phone, the caller stated they were from ANZ Bank and inquired whether I had authorized a debit of $1200 from my account. They instructed me to press 1 to disallow the transaction or 2 to authorize it. This sounded automated and suspicious, and I verified that the number does not belong to ANZ Bank. Clearly, this is a scam!
