User Reports Analysis
Consumer feedback paints a concerning picture of the interaction experience with 02 8529 5113 / 0285295113. Here’s a breakdown of the common themes:
- Automated Bank Scam: Multiple users reported receiving automated messages, often claiming to be from ANZ bank. The callers alleged that significant transactions were occurring on victims' accounts, urging them to press buttons to approve or deny these fake transactions. A key indicator here is the inconsistency—many users, like those who do not bank with ANZ, found these claims suspicious and reported them as spam.
- Heavy Breathing Calls: Some callers experienced silence upon answering, surrounded only by heavy breathing, which adds to the unsettling nature of these calls. This tactic seems to serve as a prelude to more invasive scam attempts, catching recipients off guard.
- Internet Connectivity Claims: Another variation includes claims provided by callers who suggest they are from Telstra, insisting that there are problems with internet connectivity and requesting personal identification information, which is a typical scam strategy to harvest data.
How to Handle Calls from 02 8529 5113
Given the alarming experiences reported by users, if you receive a call from this number, it is prudent to take the following steps:
- Do Not Engage: If you answer and the caller does not respond or poses as an automated service, it's best to hang up immediately.
- Do Not Provide Personal Information: Never share any personal or financial information with callers, especially those claiming to be from a bank or service provider.
- Report the Number: Use a service like Reverseau to help flag this number and warn others about its spam nature.
- Verify Through Official Channels: If you receive a voicemail or message regarding a supposedly urgent financial matter, contact your bank directly through a verified line rather than responding to the number that called you.
In conclusion, 02 8529 5113 / 0285295113 appears to be a classic case of a spam call designed to impersonate legitimate banking authorities. Stay vigilant and use platforms like Reverseau for reverse phone lookup in Australia to protect yourself and stay informed about suspicious activity.
