Similar to other posts, I got a call saying I was facing tax fraud and tax evasion which is complete rubbish. Of concern is that they have linked my mobile and home phone numbers some how.
We have had 2 messages left on our answering machine from this number. Sounds very dodgy. Asian accent. The caller accused us of tax fraud. The ATO would send a letter if there was a problem. A friend of mine had the same call yesterday.
Received a call from this number claiming to be "Jim" from the ATO. I told him I thought it was a scam and that I was reporting it to the police and he hung up immediately.
Some kind of scam. Serious consequences? Wich ones? Extremely serious. If it was extremely serious consequences, they should say what they are. I'm awating my next call.
