Got a call from this number saying I owed the ATO ex amount. Was also told that as they had tried to contact me by other means and I had refused to respond, an arrest warrant had been issued in my name and that it was going to be served, if I refused to respond to any other other requests/instructions for payment of the said amount owing. The voice was a recorded female. Not the 1st time I have had a call like this.
Yep, I got exactly the same recorded message like all the above....I'm glad that it was just a scam but cant help it to feel for the much older recipients who will easily get panicked and stirred up by it...
This is the 4th time in the last 4 months these people are more stupid than I thought. I was lucky I called this idiot back after the first time andtold him I've reported him to the police and scam watch which I did and also told him to get stuffed then he hung up.

Received this call today out of the blue. These guys are very persistent.
Fake Robotic female voice says "We have an arrest warrant under your name for possible tax evasion and / or incorrectly filled out forms. You have been blacklisted and a petition has been registered against your name. You are on Caller Blocked List. A letter will be sent out to you undelivered. Call back this number 0285181247." You're going down, pal, we're going to report you to the ATO and Scamwatch.
Today I received a call which was left on my home phone answering machine - both were from a pre-recorded automated device.
The message stated:
- I have been black listed for tax avoidance.
- a letter was sent to my registered address which was an unsigned and undelivered.
- there is a possible warrant for my arrest.
- to call 02 8518 1247 before the warrant is executed.
I didn't call back. I came to this website to see if anyone else has had this call, and they have!
I am going to report it to the ATO.

I just received another call from these people. I have just phoned them back because it has become very annoying knowing that it is a scam. An Indian sounding man answered stating the it was the Australian Tax Office which I knew it wasn't. I told him not to threaten me again and that I have reported them to police. He hung up very quickly.
I have also received a call stating I need to call this no back re a tax matter. Has anyone called it back and if so could you please provide any information.
I received an automated message from this number claiming I had been identified for tax avoidance and had to call this number back.
