We also got a computer generated voice purporting to be from the ATO. Hung up.
I received this too - again "officer Kelly" threatening "harsh legal consequences" if I didn't return the call. As a lawyer I know this is balderdash - the ATO does not make contact in this way - but I do feel for vulnerable people so please spread the word this is a scam.
I received voice message and told to phone 0284881011 to speak with Officer Kelly Anderson from Australian Taxation Office. Was to told I need to phone asap to avoid harsh consequences.
I let the call go through to message bank, then checked and took down name, phone number, person had american accent, then phoned the real Tax Office and reported it and provided details.
A scam. It was a recorded message (female Indian or similar voice) purporting to be from the Australian Tax Office. I laughed and hung up.
