    I got the blue death screen and number to call, I closed the browser and called the number. The guy on the other end told me he was tech support for windows and mac(suspicious tech support for rival companies). He then asked what was on the screen and I told him I had closed the browser, he then asked if I had scanned the computer and if I had an anti virus program... It was at this point I was getting really sus. I told him would scan the computer and if there was a problem I would call back, at this point I found this forum. Never let anyone remote your computer... I found no malware after a full system scan but to be safe I uninstalled and reinstalled chrome. Everything seems to be working fine. Now I have the hassle of re-adding my favourites and passwords to all my usual sites..

    These bastards nearly got me. I had the blue screen problem then contacted the number, they told me to go on www.lmi1.com. DOOOO NOTTTTTTT go through with that, they take over your device and start showing you reason as to why something might be happening. But I felt really suspicious of them, these guys were going through my history and private stuff which I found really unprofessional, then they wrote up an invoice on what I need to pay for to get it fixed, I told him I had no money and that I will pay for everything tomorrow (keeping in mind I trusted that he was from apple) luckily I went on this site today and found out that its a scam, so when he calls me back today for the payment I'm gonna go tell him to eat a fat ****.

    I have recently been getting this blue screen a lot, telling me everything that my security is at risk as well as my personal details, even though I have one of the better anti-viruses around.

    No matter what I do I cannot get rid of it, it all started when I got Windows 10 with edge and all my problems started from their, the recurring blue screen of death.

    Just had a interesting phone conversation with an Indian fella after I had the blue screen telling me that my laptop was at high risk and call this number.

    Got very suspicious when he kept forgetting what company he supposedly works for he did take over my computer showing me why my computer is at risk and why it's slow.

    Told him I had no money on my card and will call him back at another time, just to end the call nicely as he did have control of my computer.

    They are very good technically so be careful.

    After reading others experience it can be so easy to get caught out.

    I am also exepriencing the same problem with windows 10 Microsoft edge. A blue screen will pop up asking me to call a technician immediately. I searched this number as I was suspicious and found this site. How do I get rid of it? I've tried everything! I am even thinking of rebooting my laptop. To the person having problems with Steam, you need to clear the Steam cache by deleting the folder at Users/[username]/AppData/Local/Steam/htmlcache.

    The problem with a number of the downloadable solutions is that they will clear yhe caches of ordinary browsers but they don't do the Steam browser.

    I got the blue screen and called this number. The guy told me he is from microsoft technical support. He told me my pc got viruse & will crash without their help and all my information could be accesable and he direct me what to do and he start operating it remotely. At last he td me to fix that I have to buy their internet security while I had one. If I didn't buy theirs my pc will collapse. He is in india.

    Atlast I told him I don't want to buy their security product and he told me if I didn't buy they won't fix it and warn me my pc could crush.... I got angry & learn that they are hackers and told him that you hacked my pc inorder to frustrate and mislead to sell your product. Then I told him I don't mind if it crush as I can afford to buy new one but I will report to authorites. Then our conversation ended without respect.

    I turn off my pc and after a while turn it on the blue screen gone.....

    Delete One System Care Virus Removal program.

    Blue Screen too with the Contact Tech Support immediately scam and this phone number (02) 8417 2373 When we rang the number and refused to give certain vital information to the technician, that guy hung up. I rang him from a different number asking who he was and he hung up straight away. The hoax is dressed up as a Blue Screen of death which is certainly a new presentation. It insists you need to call the number 02 8417 2373. To talk to a technician. I think it would be less effort to block them. It's a virus & a way for scammers to hack in so be careful.

    When such Blue screen and warning apprears to call this phone number, press CTRL+ALT+DEL to bring up Task manager and KILL your browser. Delete all cookies/historyof webpages and reset your browser to default settings. Do this twice before you search/browse the internet gain.

    I too get the blue screen advising to call to get an "official technician" to remove the adware/spyware. It only happens when accessing steam games. I used malwarebytes. Didn't help. I restored to a later date. Didn't help. Installed avg free. Didn't work. Still working on it. Any advice is welcome.

    I went on a website and it redirected me to this blue screen that told me my computer was in risk. I saw the number and got suspicious, so I searched it up and I went to this website. Each time I go on Microsoft edge (a browser on windows 10) it keeps popping up. How do I remove it?

    This is not a Telstra number. I called Telstra as soon as it appeared on my screen & they know nothing about it. It's a virus & a way for scammers to hack in. A tech support person from Telstra had to get it off my computer because I could not get rid of it.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
