They rang, mans accent was strong Australian and then would change. He didn't know whether I was male or female, he had wrong address, couldn't Give me any details on when this accident occurred, however the person he was looking for and questioning me about is currently in jail. Phone call was a scam just not sure what they expected to get out of it.
3 calls today. They will keep calling you until answer. Reason they don't answer at first is to establish they have the correct number. They hang up on anyone suspicious of them. It's an attempt to obtain money via c/c details or bank details to reimburse you for car accident. Block number.
I got a call from this number. A guy with a strong english accent asked for me. When I asked him what was it about, he hung up. I was in a small car incident recently so I am seeing a definite theme/ angle to this scam due to the other comments written here.
Phone rang and I answered and they hung up so did a search and found this page. Have blacklisted the number.
Phoned asking about an accident we'd had recently and said something (in a strong English accent) about non fault driver and 'the other car'. Had info about our car and gave the date of repair as the date of accident.. I quickly informed there was no other car - partner sideswiped the powerpole when reversing. I advised I thought it was a scam call and next he'd be asking for my CC details. They left it at that.. When I pressed further and asked the company name again he said 'Case Group' and that they work with Australian Insurers eg NRMA, Suncorp, AAMI etc and that it was probably someone new at our insurer who'd entered incorrect information and that he'd have it "removed from the Motor Vehicle Insurers Registry"..
I called our insurer who checked with a few people and said no one knows who they are and that they suspect it's a SCAM.
I have had 2 calls from these people. They call themselves Case Group. Today he was Richard can't remember the First call which was a couple of days after our car had been stolen and hadn't taken much notice of why they were ringing said they work with the insurance company. Today received another call and I asked a few more questions and it was when I asked them why they don't know the details that he tried to get of the phone quickly. He kept repeating that he they work with the insurance companies making sure that we are happy with the way things were progressing. I rang back this number and of course no answer. I asked my insurance company and they do not work with any one out side of their company. Not sure what these people are trying to achieve...grrrrrr.
I want to know who this is. I get blank messages left on my voicemail. If I answer there's no one there. When I try and ring from my mobile it just switches off and if I ring from a land line it rings out, How can I stop it?
I'm also receiving 3-4 calls per day from this number. The phone call is either deadly quiet or there is mumbling in the background.
Got a call from these scheming bastards about an accident I was supposedly involved in. I've never been in an accident, but asked if it was the one in Darwin. They said yes and could I give some details as I might be due for some compensation. I blasted and swore at the pricks. I've never been to Darwin.
Continual calls from this number. If answered there is no one there just breathing and some noise in the background that could be office noise.
