I did not answer the call, and they didn't leave a voice message. I'm reporting this to inform others that the number is still in circulation, and it could potentially be a scam.
This call was clearly a scam related to Amazon. The caller left a voicemail saying that $1499 was set to be debited from my nonexistent Amazon account and advised me to press 1 to discuss the issue or 2 to report it.
I received a call stating that there was suspicious activity on my Amazon account, and that a large purchase had been put on hold. The caller instructed me to press 1 for more information, but they didn’t provide any clear reason for the options given. This feels very suspicious.
The caller claimed to be from Telstra and said my internet connection was being switched from private to public. However, I use Vodafone for my phone service and Internode for my home internet. I questioned why Telstra would be contacting me instead of my actual service providers. The caller spoke very rapidly, with a strong Indian accent, and it was difficult to understand him.
