    They called me again today. This time I asked for an ABN number to which he wouldn't supply. He gave me an address of their business of 11/20 George street Sydney which seems to be an apartment.. And I asked him for a number to call back on he replied with 02 80050066. Though he called me from 02 83336645.

    Accident Claims Management.. I will find you. And I will get my compensation.

    I just received a call from a foreign male who advised me that he was calling on behalf of accident management and was told I was in a car accident. I told him I wasn't and he asked if any of my family members were involved in an accident. When I told him that no one was and im confused by his call, he said ok bye and hung up. This is definitely a scam because I don't own a vehicle and have never been in a car accident.

    Indian accent claiming I was in an unfortunate accident that I was entitled to compensation.

    I grilled him for information on how he got the phone number. Asked for a reference number as he said it was supplied by the RTA (even though its TMR in QLD) I told him this doesn't sound anywhere near comprehensive enough to be what he was claiming. He hung up and I tried calling back to a disconnected number. I swear one day I'm gonna find these thieving f@#$% and show them what I think of their antics. I will get my compensation by way of their teeth scattered across the road from what ever hole they're hiding in.

    Called, hard to understand - talking about someone being in a car accident in my car, I told them that I don’t own a car. Hung up on me. Definitely have to be scammers. Knew my name....

    They are a scammer and when you call the number back, it is disconnected. They will ask you if you have been in an accident, but don't provide a name.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
