Impersonating a bank scam.
When called back, says messagebank is full and no message can be left.
Judging from the messages they use this number to scam quite a lot.
Is this a genuine number which scammers are using then they could be traced and punished?
The call specified it was from the Department of Immigration and instructed me to press 1 for English.
I received a call from this number, which featured a recorded message delivered in English with a Chinese accent, claiming to be from the Immigration Department. I chose to end the call at that point as it felt suspicious.
The call ended unexpectedly, and the app Hiya flagged it as Potential Fraud, prompting me to add this number to my block list.
I send all unknown calls directly to voicemail. One voicemail stated that there was an "academic emergency," providing two language options: 1) for Australian students and 2) for Chinese students.
