Now received two messages from that number. Two different voices both with an americanised acsent. First one indicated it was the American Govt, second one the ATO. Obviously a scam, if it was real we would be contacted by other means.

Got a message on my answering machine saying they were from the ato and I was getting charged with tax evasion and fraud. It is an obvious scam!!

Got this male, likely around 30, indian american accent calling me on the 12th feb with a criminal case for tax evasion and tax fraud, this person is the lowest of the low. Said to "have a polite day" at the end of the call. The irony. What an idiot.

These guys don't give up, do they? After I ignored several calls from that number (thinking it was a charity: I dislike that too) they left a message. After threatening legal consequences if they did not hear from 'my side', they had the cheek to wish me a blessed day!

C

Received a call and did not answer. Called back to the number given and told them they were a fraud and will report them to the Federal police. They hung up. Same bullshit about being from the ato etc.

So why is there no redress for this? Why are they able to carry this out? Who is able to block them? If they can send out mass messages, surely Telstra etc can counter this.

I have been contacted 5 times now by this number. It is obvious BS and the ATO confirm this.

Telstra must immediately CUT this SCAM-line!

They left message on my phone saying they can help me with an ATO criminal investigation into my tax fraud - very funny - I have not done tax return for 20 years since I retired!!! They call some people from 07 3018 7514 but leave message to call NSW number - this website shows similar SCAM complaints against that number too!

ATTENTION - obviously this is a SCAM - they talk to you and when they see you are naïve, they ask for your bank account or credit card number so they can steal all your money! This is a daring cheeky fraud to pretend to be lawyers and solicitors who want to protect you from ATO prosecution!

Please complain to your local Federal member of parliament to change the laws - Telstra knows their exact name & address - we need laws to allow Telstra to suspend their phone lines while they THEMSELVES undergo CRIMINAL investigation!

In the meantime, the elderly, disabled, sick and naïve people are getting robbed of their life's savings by increasingly "CHUTZPA" tactics such as this!

I listened to the same message on my answering machine tonight. Something about lodging a criminal case against me re tax evasion & tax fraud. I'll be calling my accountant.

A
Amaral

Received a message on my machine from them stating they have filed a criminal case against my name in relation to tax evasion and tax fraud, and urging to call them back. Obviously some kind of scam as this is not how the filing of a lawsuit goes. Will be confirming and reporting this to the ATO.
