I received a call from 0283117092 this morning with an electronic voice stating " This is a call from the National Broadband Network and suspicious activity has been detected and your service will be terminated tomorrow. Please press 1 to rectify". Just call my network provider myself to check it out. Was Scammer.
Caller claims to be from Telstra and said there is a problem with my internet that enables overseas Callers to access my computer. (caller sounded very indian to me - said overseas caller?) Got aggressive when I said I would speak to my own supplier - not telstra. Even the recording at the beginning of the call wasn't very official sounding - recorded message with heavy accent.
Either have a little fun with them or simply hang up. DO NOT give out any info. This will enable into your computer for their nefarious deeds.
This is a scam. They said they were from Telstra and that my internet is going to be disconnected tomorrow and I said I'm not with Telstra and I know that if my internet was going to be disconnected, that I would have been informed by the provider. I then said that this is obviously a scam and they hung up!
