Said they were from Optus offering a discount in my phone bill wanted my date of birth. Asked them to send me an email to confirm identity but refused to do so. As soon as I said the word "scam" hung up on me straight away.
Called from Telstra on a Saturday night saying they were going to give me a discount on my account but they were requesting a lot of personal details. They eventually try to order a phone on your account and try to have it delivered to their address.
Caller had a strong Indian accent and said they were from Telstra and wanted to give me a discount on my bill. My gut was telling me scam since Telstra doesn't usually ring on Saturday nights, but I played along with it anyway. They knew my first and last name and then asked for my middle name and date of birth, which I didn't give to them. They then asked for my home address so they could post me the discount documents. I also refused to give them that, so they said god bless you, thanked me for my time and hung up.
Called from this number saying they were OPTUS, even somehow sent a code to my phone. Asked for name, date of birth, state I live in, finally asking for my four digit pin. I knew then it was a scam.
