I received a call from someone claiming to be from Dell, who had the audacity to ask for our CEO by name. It’s absurd to think our CEO would speak to such callers. I believe this is a scam!

The caller claimed to be from Dell Australia but could not provide any verification. This raises suspicion about their legitimacy.

Took a call from a gentleman today who had got my name from a mailing list generated by Dell Technologies a few years ago. He claimed to be from a company called "Control Group" and wanted to book in a time to get his IT systems security team to have a phone meeting to discuss my cyber security requirements. I had a long 10 minute chat with him and I feel confident that it was a legitimate sales "cold call" rather than a scam/phishing call, however his trading name is extremely generic (ie. "Control Group"), and they don't pop up on a Google search.... I suspect they are linked with Dell Technologies and want to sell you a server and some workstations.
