    A male voice, somewhat muffled, possibly Indian accent claiming to be Ron Nelson from ATO wanting me to call. Left 3 identical messages, sounded like à recording. Looked it up here, I won't be responding.

    This number is from someone pretending to be from the ATO and are requesting personal information. Do not give them any details. Report to the real ATO.

    Yes, I got a call from this number, recorded message, weird forced Nazi style accent telling me that I'll be arrested for tax fraud if I don't call back. Dream on! I recommend to the caller to see a psychiatrist because he is a psychopath! Suspect he'll be arrested - very soon.

    This number left 2 messages on my home answering machine. When I phoned back I was told it was the ATO and they are following up on serious tax fraud charges. Eventually the caller got onto to tell me I would be arrested within the next 2 hours! They did mention some $ but did not get around to asking for it and when I started questioning them, how they got my name (which is not published anywhere except Facebook.... Hmmmm), that I needed the details from the ATO in writing, etc then they ended the conversation as I was hanging up on them!

    This number is being used by either telecallers or scammers! Once answered all I got was silence and then the computer tells me it's hanging up.

    Piss of idiots!

    I have received a strange call claiming to be from Australian Tax Office. I have asked to provide me with the contact details and was able to get only this number. When I start asking more questions the person just hand up on me.

    Strange call claiming to be the legal department of the Australian Tax Office. I have ignored it as the Taxation Department would not use this method to contact me. I tried ringing the number several times but it seems to be engaged every time.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
