Message was left to call this number for legal prosecution hearing. I got scared first but I would assumed they would have send me a letter. Also I had a phone call from some Indian firm or something telling me the same thing and asking me to pay them money. Not sure who is doing it but cannot trust this number. It is likely a spam or a scam. Don't give them any money.

Same automated scam message as everyone else. Message was left on answering machine on 11th April, Geraldton WA.

Apparently I am delinquent and have a warrant for my arrest. Smacks of scam as they do not even identify who they claim to represent.

Received a phone call regarding tax fraud, exact comments stated above...

Have reported to ATO.

This was an automated call to which I hung immediately, and then checked this number. I appreciate the above comments and can advise my elderly parents. Phone calls regarding "Your son has been in an accident" has prompted my elderly dad to contact my brother who was overseas at the time, to check if he was all right. My Dad spent a few hours worrying until he received confirmation that there was no accident.

Received 3 calls is 24 hours. They left a message saying they were calling from the ATO.

H

Just received the same message as others have reported. No name was mentioned and no letters were ever received.

Interestingly, I don't get payment of any sort and therefore don't pay taxes. Definately a SCAM.

So tell me Telstra, if you can pull the plug on me if I don't pay my account, why is this number, known by the ATO as a scam, not shut down. Are they paying their account, if so by whom?

F

Just received 3 voicemail messages about unpaid tax and warrant out for my arrest. Person did answer phone but not sure what the scam is. Will report to ato as he said he was from the ato in Martin place Sydney. This is not the number for the ato.

Have received three calls in 24 hrs, same format tax debt, arrest. Rang the number and the phone was actually answered by a person, so no message bank. Advised him of what physical renovations would be arranged for him if he didn't stop calling, he said sorry and hung up. Have reported it to the ATO.

I also got the same fraud message.

This is totally fraud.

Had 2 voicemails from this number saying I hadnt paid any tax and a warrant is out for my arrest. If everyone's getting the same thing it's a scam I'm sure.

C

Ditto - same recorded message threatening all sorts of legal action. Received here in Perth.

A recorded message with US Accent saying I had committed tax fraud and my account (non-descript) had been marked as a delinquency account.

Clearly not an official ATO call in any way. Beware.

M

Stated there was a warrant out for my arrest due to tax avoidance. Also stated that they had sent out registered letters to my address of which for some reason were returned to them. It was a pre recorded message with an American accent. Told to ring them in order to avoid further repercussions. SCAM.

My wife received a phone message from this number saying there were warrants because of unpaid tax bills. Glad to add this to the list of comments - is there somewhere to report such incidents?

F

Obvious scam.

Recorded message saying ring another number (I didn't write it down).

They go on to say there is a warrant out for arrest as you have not lodged tax returns and mail has been returned unclaimed.

In my case this is BS as I have all assessments up to date and acknowledged by ATO.
