    They rang me, and I looked up the number later, thought I had better ring back, as they tried several times. Can''t understand them, and they can't understand me, so it's quite hopeless, what do you do when you don't know who is a scammer and who is legit? They need Australian accents with their service, as nobody can understand anyone, it's getting beyond a joke Grrr.

    Several calls from this number, callers had heavy accents possibly Indian. Callers claimed to be from Suncorp & asked to speak to the business manager, very hard to understand and claiming to have returned mail. Scam phishing calls.

    CitiCorp is the Finance institution for NAB, Citibank and SuncorpMetway credit cards. This is their Sydney office number. Queries for these banks are regard one's credit card enquiry, eg: card increase balance, complaints. Not a SCAM number. Thx.

    I have left three messages on my credit card app asking something. We've now missed two Sydney calls, no messages. I'm assuming it is in response to the Qantas card questions (now Citibank I think?). Why no message. Call just now was cut off before I could answer the phone.

    Received a call from this number wanting personal information about my address after which I hung up as I am sure my credit card company would not phone me to ask these questions. So hard to decide if a call is genuine or not!

    Started asking for account details. I said no as I don't know whether they are actually Citibank or not. She said she would email, she hasn't.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
