    AGL had a data breach in December 2022, so a caller could know your phone number, name and AGL account details but not really be from AGL.

    Called me numerous times but never answered. And finally today answer the phone and she was trying to sell me internet service and mobile plan. I asked few questions and maybe she was annoyed or rack of knowledges, just hung up in the middle of conversation.

    AGL Pushing internet and mobile connection. They are friendly, they knew my details as I am an AGL customer. I told them I wasn't interested. End of call. Not really spam. Drumming up business. If you're needing other questions answered about AGL they transfer the call.

    Checked here if this number was listed for anything. Didn't leave a number but they keep sending me promotional emails for their mobile phone plans, so can only assume it was them on the phone. Thanks for the info.

    Phone registers the calls as spam. I decline the call and they don't leave a message. Called twice today in quick succession and I've now blocked the number.

    They called me and I answered. They wanted to sell National Broadband Network and a mobile plan to me. I told them no! The non English speaking lady was thrown by the fact that I wasn't interested and became passive aggressive. I hang up on her. I have since had 4 missed calls.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
