It is a person pretending to be AGL when I rung AGL to let them know that there is a scammer going around pretending to be them. They said that they would never call any customer and ask for their ID. You have to contact them.. And the numbers that they are calling from not AGL numbers.
Picked up once but no response. Constantly calling, have had 3 times a day for last couple of days. Given the comments here, I too left AGL in the couple of days. How is it possible that they can call up given I'm on the do not call register.
AGL. Like many before me apparently, I tried in vain to get a better deal from them and they wouldn't budge so I left them for a better solar plan with rival company. They wanted me to switch back on a worse plan than I left with and tried to bribe me with a $100 credit. Lol try harder AGL.
I have left AGL 4 days ago so I guess looking at all the other remarks shows why we left the company, they were offering to save electricity on night times for $5.00 but they were actually only giving us the GST ex price but then charging us this back again so was a scam as we did not benefit out of it, I am now saving $480.00 a bill now swapping to another company.
Call from AGL, leaving about five minutes of hold music/AGL blurb, no human message left. I've recently left AGL and the final bill has been paid. Now blocked this number.
I suspect this is scam. They ask you for your address then ask you to spell out your email address. Very suspicious when a company asks for a private information.
I recently left AGL. The call was a hard sell to try to get me to cancel the move (as I hadn't received my final bill yet). Offered me a few incentives which were pretty much their standard new customer enticements. When I thanked him and said it was too late, he really cranked up the "assertiveness". Bye-bye AGL.
Lying through his teeth trying to make it sound like I can’t switch the accounts. Earlier I switched because I didn’t like their practices of increasing my bill and reducing my feed in tariff. But after this call felt like ewww what slime balls. Some lovely lies-
Meters are read only once in three months so you can’t switch in between (I have a smart meter, it is read remotely everytime)
Your account is still with us (Received the final bill already)
AGL trying to offer $100 to go back to them after transferring. Called no less than 10 times over 2 days.

Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.
Call or message may be a scam if:
You're asked for personal information or money;
Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
The caller wants to access and control your computer.
To protect yourself:
Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
Do not send any money.
Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
