    I just received a call from this number while in Tokyo. Didn't take it since I didn't know who it was and thus why pay much money while OS to answer it? No message left. If it is GetUp as many say, then this is very annoying.

    I'm fairly certain it's GetUp calling re: signing up to convert you to use Powershop as an energy provider.

    Yes, I received 2 phone calls from this number yesterday on my mobile. I did not answer and they did not leave a message. I am tempted to phone them and see who they are, but will decide upon that later on. This type of thing has been happening on a regular basis from various numbers, and I am sick and tired of it.

    I live in Perth and got two calls (so far) from this number. I didn't answer and there were no voice mail messages left. I don't recognise this number and I wasn't expecting any calls from Sydney anyway.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
