    Yes, Sandra rang me repeatedly yesterday. She was pushy, would not accept that I did not require her services. She spoke with an Indian accent. Another dishonest Asian scammer, who come to Australia to defraud other people.

    Got a call from Brighton group doing survey. Asking me if I am currently voting. I said no iam currently watching tv, what is survey about? She hadan indian accent and told me research. I asked for company name and address. It seems these scammers are getting better at giving fake answers. She gave a valid address in a suburb near to me. I asked why the company is doing research, she tried to give me bull#%&@ answers ofresearch on demographics. I told her I am entitlted to know what my information is being used for and by whom before my privacy is invaded. We argued back and forth she said if I answer the questions first then I may be eligible for tax concessions. I then asked if it was for the tax office or australian govt she said no. When she couldn't answer all my questions she said her manager will call me back in 20 mins with the answers.

    They didn't call back. Searched company name and address, nothing seemed to fit. Very annoying. I will go back to either not answer phone or hang up immediately if it is any type of survey.

    Yep same company have called my landline every day for the last week wanting to speak with my brother - very deceptive claims the "only" reason she called again today on a public holiday (Anzac Day) was because my brother tried to call them. And she knew this would be the only day she'd reach him. (He said he has never tried to called them) he phoned back today and told them not to call again apparently they are trying to get people to invest a portion of their earnings into shares.. Scumbags, who would want to invest in shares in a company only established last year... Real secure. Usually people that purchase shares do not do so via cold callers.

    Same MO - call centre, pushy "Sandra Rogers" from India - I know this as her boss sent me a text message from country #91...India. Somerton Financial Group... What bull ! Wanted to make an appointment for us to see a "licensed financial planner" from Optima Wealth Solutions - not Optima Group however (this we found out later only from the boss. Again BULL - some dodgy QLD white shoe mob no doubt. Whatever these schmucks are selling you don't want to buy. I also want to complain why being on the Do Not Call register did not filter these bottom feeders out. No doubt they are in 'wealth creation' - THEIRS, not yours !

    Caller from Somerton Group, advising me I qualified for a tax concession. Quickly checked - no web page. He said they were having technical difficulties. Claimed they knew me from a survey they did some time ago - disturbingly he knew my name, profession, wife's name and her profession. Clearly an Indian scam.

Told him I was googling company and it didn't seem to exist. He said that was because they were new.. I queried being the market leader when you are only new and he hung up shortly after. Scam. Got this call tonight. They asked for my husband! I asked politely "who is calling please", he refused to answer and just asked for my husband again! I then told him "if you don't tell me who you are, I will not tell you if my husband was available"! He then hung up!

    Must be some sort of scam, if they can't tell you who they represent!!

    Call from same number. Number does not answer when called back. First call was from Brighton Group.2nd from Somerton Group. Caller said they were the leading government tax advisers in AUS despite not having any website (under construction). We were told we had been prequalified for govt tax rubbish. Caller was from India call centre. Caller refused all requests for contact info and gave out same fake telephone number. Caller kept going right back to script until I said I would continue to interrupt unless I was given solid contact info. Caller said I was not interested and hung up.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
