    Had similar experience with man with English accident who insisted it was not a scam. I asked for details and he said they only had my name & Number & that I had had an accident. Is a change from the Asian accent calls but disturbing. Would like to hear these people get fined or something for upsetting people.

    Told this English accent guy that is was a scam as he asked about a motor vehicle accident that I've had in the last 12 months which I've hadn't had and hung up. He the called me back and had an argument with me about it not being a scam. He then said he just wanted to clarify about a claim that has been lodged by Mrs..... Blah blah at Blair blah blah address to which I said "ha! Haven't been there in 9yrs." and hung up again. Hopefully nothing comes of this.

    Same deal - english accent guy trying to tell me it is not a scam and trying to get me to confirm details about an accident in the last 12 months. Got a bit upset when I told him I knew it was a scam but caught him out by making him tell me the details about the accident I was meant to have been in where he gave up and ended the call.

    Had a call from a similar number the other day and was told they were from the MVA & some shit about any accidents.

    Looked it up and seen similar calls marked as a scam.

    Answers this call and some pommy wanker said the same thing. I said piss off wanker I know you're scammers to which he replied "f*k off " haha. Hung up on me...

    Then called back and tried to argue with me and questioned what makes me think it's a scam!

    Um telling the person you called to "f*k off" is a dead give away!

    Get a real job LOSER!!!

    Block this number immediacy.

    This number called both my phone and my daughters mobile phone at the same time. My daughter answered and they asked for someone of my married name which is no longer valid for 7 years. They didn't say where they are calling from.

    This is a scam number and should ve reported.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
