How the Scam Operates

The callers are presumed to employ a scripted approach — waiting for an answer before directing their queries towards verifying the recipient's identity or ownership of the phone number.

Female Asian accent person rang at 7.15pm. I answered had to wait for response as you always do for scammed and telemarketers. She heard my voice then hung up. Then phone rang again same waiting for response then said are you the owner of this telephone and I said yes what do you want (a little hostile) and the rude so and so hung up in my ear. I am on do not call register didn't stop them so pay for private number cut off all overseas calls and I still get them. What does a person have to do to get peace in their own home?
