Yes it's a scam - I haven't been in any accidents ever! I find it best when an unknown number rings me on my mobile, to let it ring out into my voice mail. If it's legitimate they can leave a message for me - however, being a scam, they won't ever do this. As soon as they've disconnected I can then read the number in the call log area on my mobile and block it.

I missed a call from this number, and when I tried calling back I got a recorded message saying, "this is a follow up call... Regarding the accident you were in...".

Same story. They keep calling me about an accident. Funny enough I had an accident a few months ago and I actually thought it was a follow up car. Then she wanted to put me through her manager because I was entitled to receive compensation for my car accident etc... Told them I wasn't interested and hung up.

Now I've blocked this number cause its at least the 3rd time they call me.

Had these persons call before with their car accident rubbish. This time I told then up front that I knew they were con-artists. they claimed they were not and threaten me with legal action if I spread these "lies". Ive had this number for over 10 years and have never owned a car.

Ihave had this call about 20 times. I don't know how this scam works. They insist that I had an accident, they know my surname, they know my address. But ive only lived there for 5 months and they say the accident was 12 months ago. Bizarre. Im blocking the number now.

I got a call from this number today. He said his name was Max and from?? Sure (I couldn't make out the start of the business name). He had a british accent. Same story. He said I had been in a no fault motor vehicle accident in the last 12 months. I said I hadn't but my husband may have reported it and I would need to check. I did mention that we had a tree fall on both of our cars and that we had notified our insurer of that - I mentioned our insurers name. He said that if it wasn't a motor vehicle accident it shouldn't have gone through to him. I asked him again for the name of his business and he hung up on me. I hope I haven't given him enough info to do any harm!

I have had 2 calls in past 7 days, same story "you were involved in a car accident in last 12 months" I advised the scammer I don't drive and would report the harassment, he naturally hung up. I have not banned his number on my phone. Who should we report these scammers to?

I have just had this number call me and when I answered they didn't say anything. I think they were waiting for it to go to my voice message. This is not the first time I've had this call either. Like one of the comments previous, the first call was asking questions about an alleged accident I had in the last 12 months (I haven't had an accident or been involved in one) . I told them I didn't know what they were talking about and hung up.

Received a call from this number today (29 Sept 2016).

A male, "John" asked if I had been in an accident in the last 12 months. Stated he was from a company called E-sure, which he stated was a feedback company.

He stated he obtained my details from the "National Insurance Database" and provided a callback number of 0402 186 248.

He also stated he was based in Melbourne, however the phone number displayed on my phone was an (02) number.

I considered it be a spam call and hung up.

Bankstown on my phone. It was a girl with a strong English accent. I have used compare the market website about an hour before the call and had also received a call from the.

So wondered if the scammers are getting details via compare the market data base.

I get a call from this mob at least once a month. Very annoying as I have not been in an accident. When pressed they told me the accident occurred in my suburb. Very difficult to understand them because of their accent. I never give out any information and suggest you don't either. Obviously some sort of scam.
