Massive SCAM, IGNORE!!!
Had this same call today and earlier this year.
Previously I spoke to the guy (Indian Accent) & when I strung him along (20mins) and then told him I knew it was a scam - he began swearing and cursing.
Received a call from this number today. It's a computer generated VOICE message threatening to have me arrested if I don't call back. I've had this same scam call earlier this year and reported it to the ATO.
In a country like Australia, how are these numbers ALLOWED - surely someone has the power to know who OWNS this number and to prosecute.
This number left a recorded message saying a law suit was going to be filed against me unless I rang the number back.
Robotic male voice stating he was from ATO, said that there was a lawsuit against me and that I needed to call back ASAP. Called back several times, no answer or busy. Saw on other sites that other people are also getting same call today. #scam.
It's a scam. I don't answer numbers I don't recognise and these reviews helped me.
Called me saying I was under a lawsuit and could get arrested! lol.
Scam.
Phone call from this number which I returned. Indian accent and Indian accents in the background. Purporting to be from the ATO. Asking for name and address. Then stating that a "file" has been raised in my name and if I had a lawyer to represent me. At that point I knew it was a scam.
This is a scam pretending to be calling from the ATO and asks for you to call back and if you don't there will be a warrant out for your arrest. It is a computer generated voice.
