Understanding the Reports on 02 8091 5637

The phone number 02 8091 5637 / 0280915637 has raised significant suspicion among users, with multiple reports classifying it firmly as a scam. Initial user interactions suggest that the caller attempts to masquerade as a legitimate telecommunications provider, specifically claiming to represent Optus or offering discounts as Vodafone. However, the consistent pattern of these interactions indicates nothing more than an elaborate ruse aimed at extracting private information from unsuspecting individuals.

Classification and Insights

This phone number is predominantly categorised as a scam due to its deceptive practices. Here’s a closer inspection based on user experiences:

  • Disguising as a Legitimate Caller: Users reported receiving calls where the operator divulged vague details about their identity and position. The reluctance to provide proper identification combined with the abruptness when questioned points toward a lack of legitimacy.
  • Targeting Sensitive Information: Reviews have highlighted that callers attempt to solicit sensitive information, including personal PINs, under the false pretence of providing discounts related to COVID-19. Such tactics are commonly associated with phishing scams designed to access accounts and cause financial distress.
  • Poor User Response: The overall handling of responses reflects a typical red flag concerning scams; users trying to return calls faced unavailability, or the calls ended shortly after initiation, as evidenced by one user’s reports of multiple unanswered return attempts.

What to Do If You Receive a Call From 02 8091 5637

Scam caller pretended to be from Vodafone offering 50% discount due to COVID. They will insist on you providing your PIN.

They will not identify themselves properly and they have no means to do so.

Tell them to &^%-off, it is a scam confirmed by Vodafone.
