What Our Users Reviewed
They called back, strung them along for another 10min before I got bored and said bye rather rudely. They were pretty good though, got me to open up event viewer and see if there were any warnings or errors which there always is. According to them, these are being sent by hackers to my computer.
Then they directed me to download and install teamviewer which is when I got bored.
Why is it they have legit phone numbers? Calling from 07 3018 7514 and leaving 02 8091 4073 as a return number.
Called back couple of times but just rang out.
Imagine they'll call back at some point at which time I will be quite rude and swear quite a lot down the phone until they hang up.
Also forgot to mention, they are hitting on my area as our internet connection (via Telstra) is listed as being down since about 10am this morning, due to be up around 6pm which is about now.
Told me I was sending dodgy traffic out if I was using Google or sending email!
First call came from 07 3018 7514 and they walked me through going to a command prompt (WIN-R) and then to type assoc and press enter. Didn't do it but looked up what scam this might be and found they are after the CLSID of my computer obviously to connect to it and either remote control, grab files off, stick on a virus or encrypt stuff.
Then when I said I had to go they gave me this number (02 8091 4073) to call. Will call back shortly and see what's what.
