SCAM SCAM SCAM.

Same story as others. Indian sounding lady says she's from Federal government Reclaims Dept and that Bank charges are being refunded. Gave me my (old) address and asked me to confirm my DOB. Asked if I wanted the money to my bank or by cheque. I said by cheque. Told me to phone Angelina Cooper or Mike Watson with code to get the chq sent. Reported to POLICE on www.scamwatch.au.

I received a call today, the 23rd September, stating that it was from the Reclaims Department in Sydney saying I'm entitled to a refund from the bank for overcharged fees $6325.00 I was given a reference number and told to ring back and speak to the Managers Angelina Cooper or John Douglas on 0280913390. I rang and a man answered telling me that he was busy with another call and call back in 15 minutes. When I rang back a woman answered saying "The Australian Government Reclaims Department". I gave her the Reference Number and she asked to confirm my address and date of birth. She asked me which bank I would like the money to go throu. I asked her a check. She asked me again to which bank I would deposit my the check. She then told me that the check will arrive in 48 hours, but I need to sign at the post office to collect it and pay a fee of $400. I asked her why they don't get that money from the check and just send it directly to my address... They have now to many information about me: my address, phone number, date of birth, address and even the name of my bank. What is going to happen now? Will this scam stop or will they try again?

Received a call stating that it was from the Reclaims Dpt in Sydney saying I'm entitled to a refund from the bank for overcharged fees.$6325.00 I was given a reference number and told to ring back tomorrow and speak to the Managers Angelina Cooper or John Douglass on 0280913390. I have phoned the ATO and Bank who had not heard of any of this and reported it. Did not give out any banking details. Sounds like an Indian scam.

Said I have money owing from my bank who over charged me. I was given a number and name of persons to ring and talk to John Douglas and/or Angela Cooper to receive my over payment of $333.55. I did not ring they rang me back to say that I must ring even though I gave them false birth date and bank in the first call.
