The same thing happened to me this morning.
Received an email stating they are from the Commonwealth bank and that a direct debit has been set up by Smile Dental Care and that $233.42 was going to be deducted from my account. Never set this up nor have I been to Smile Dental Care. They stated that if I did not set this up I was to phone 02 8091 0994.
The caller stated that a direct debit payment was initiated through my dentist, but I did not authorize this payment.
I received an email supposedly from Commonwealth Bank, stating they set up a new direct debit for a dental care company. Since I don’t have an account with CBA, I called the number (02) 8091 0994, but the call could not be connected and was terminated.
