    Got a robo message from this number, claiming they were from the ATO. The Indian dude told me that my taxes were wrong and that there was a warrant for my arrest. He said I would be arrested tonight and that I would be in prison for 5 years. I went along with it and even gave him my accountants name and number. He pretended to ring my accountant and have a conversation. The weird thing was, that I then got a phone call from my accountants landline! How did they do that? But then the gold moment happened. The dude who rang me from my accountants number, also had an Indian accent! Like seriously? I know what my accountant sounds like... And he ain’t Indian. So, I said, “Michael! What’s happened to you? You used to be Australian. But now, you’re Indian?” He hung up, lol.

    Had a missed call and voicemail from this number - voicemail sounded like text-speech (computer generated speech) and was threatening to issue an arrest warrant and 'get you arrested'.

    99% sure its a scam.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
