Seriously, if a number in Sydney is found to be a call centre running phone scams...02 8073 xxxx... Then how long does it take for someone to get Testra to de-activate the number, and for Federal Police to get in there and shut these guys down. It must be full of Indians migrants claiming to be ATO, Citibank, Giftcentre and anything else they can think of. I understand there are bigger fish to fry, but someone must be setting these places up and giving these people a job!!!! Look how many complaints there are on the net !!

We receive the same call yesterday at 12.47pm on our landline. It said to listen carefully to the message no matter if we are a business or residential landline. The message was about tax evasion and incorrect tax filing and that a warrant may be issued for our arrest and to contact a lawyer. I rang from work and the person who responded said he was Louie from ATO. I asked how could I prove that I was ringing the ATO and he responded he is not there to make me believe and hung up.
I got a call from this same number today at 2.06pm, saying there is a warrant for my arrest, because I owe money to the ATO, and the man says to call 02 80735026 immediately, I never did call because I know it's a scam and it's not the only phone call I have had from this mob.
Same call received as reported, tax evasion and I did not return letter sent to me. Also that I would be arrested. The call came through on my landline as caller ID "private" which I answered because I thought it was a relative. The voice on the phone said to call 02 8073 5026. Didn't try to call back, but I would feel for an elderly person if they got this scam call!

I just got two phone calls today and spoke to aguy telling me I am gpoing to be arrested for tax evasion. I didn't answer the first time, but the idiot wanted my tax file number. I didn't give it to him. I want to report them but don't know who to report to! IDIOTS!!!!

I've received 2 calls within an hour on the home phone plus one on my mobile. That's just today. Some have the number stated and others are overseas but the same message. There needs to be something we can do about these unwanted calls.
I get at least three calls from this number every week, all with the same message, ie tax not being filed warrant for your arrest has been issued etc. Biggest bunch of d^*kheads if they think they can scam people like that. Just got a voicemail from these scammers - saying out of recent audit I've incorrectly / no tax filing so I've been registered as delinquent and there is a possible warrant for my arrest. They also said a letter sent to my address was returned unsigned.
