    Says it's from Telstra asking for payment, but appears to be a scam because all my accounts are paid up.

    Absolutely not Telstra. I am with Telstra. I have a direct debit. I'm never owing money on an account. Telstra NEVER asks you to input items over the phone via keypad. Never do it.

    Multiple missed calls. First one left an automated voice voicemail stating it was not a telemarketer and to press 1. Now saying it’s Telstra.

    SCAM IMPERSONATING TELSTRA a recording from usual female Telstra voice, that I recognise as Telstra recording. Asked me for DOB.. To key into phone pad, I put four hash symbols, then the recording said, call back again and the operator hung up call. Reeks of SCAM!

    If it isn't a scam, why don't they leave a message? Telstra of all business should understand that this would be the protocol. Most people I know don't answer unknown phone numbers and rely on a message being left to know the call was legitimate. Pretty basic, really.

    THIS IS A FAKE CALL!. Checked with Telstra - told fake. Call did not give account number and Telstra always sends written confirmation of billing issues. DO NOT ANSWER as you will be conned into paying an outstanding account and your phone number is passed on to other scammers so you will be called incessantly.

    2 calls within a couple hours. I don’t answer random numbers but both times they left voicemails. The 1st time the message said: “not a scam press 1”, the second time the message said “call” Both super strange. Just googled it and it lead me to this page. I don’t have a Telstra account either I do pre paid so I won’t be calling them back lol. Scam.

    Pretty sure this is legiit, if it was a scammer they did pretty good knowing my personal details and how much was due on my account. Seems it is an error at Telstra to receive the call as the direct debit was paid automatically 2 weeks ago (confirmed) Telstra say it's cause the system "hasn't caught up yet" Typical Telstra useless as AF as usual.

    This number had been calling me for a few weeks and I ignored it, thinking it was a roboscam but I read some of the answers here and then checked and turns out my Telstra bill genuinely overdue so while I'm not saying "ANSWER IT", maybe just check your bill. I didn't answer or give details or anything of course. Companies should probably figure out a new way to contact us I suppose.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
