    Answered and male with Australian accent spoke (lots of office noise in the background). Advised he was calling on behalf of AMP and offering a free lost super search and that the call would be logged. Asked if I could verify full name and DOB. I advised they should already have that information. He offered an email option sent to an address I stopped using about 10years ago. I took the offer but provided them with my work email address. I have not recieved the email even though he advised I should receive it within a few hours.

    Just got a call, answered it and a woman sounded like she was talking to someone else in the background. Lots of office noise, I said hello again, she said hello, then hung up.

    It is a company acting on behalf of Virgin Money (I called the number back to check but only got so far). You can call Virgin Money on +61 2 8249 8000 (or apparently you can email them at privacy@virginmoney.com.au - I just rang them) and tell them that you do not wish to receive any marketing material. After a phone call nearly every day from these people we will see if my phone call to Virgin Money does anything to stop it happening again! Ridiculous!

    Confirm it's Virgin-related, selling some financial products - told them not interested last week and they have called again twice this morning on that number...

    I have had the same, recently received numerous calls for this number. I answered once last week and was hung up on, answered again today and noises in the background, followed by a "hello" from a woman and then nothing. Leave me alone!

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
