    Multiple inbound calls.

    When I pickup there's silence.

    Nobody picks up when I call the number back.

    Probs should block it.

    Don't stress people - this is definitely a legitimate number - I work for a Telco and they call me on this number all the time to confirm when they have completed my orders.

    Optus 5G support were simply calling to check that my new service is working to my satisfaction. All good. Don't be spooked, people. The callers won't bite you.

    I had National Broadband Network out fixing my internet connection. Optus called to confirm the technician had been and fixed it. A genuine call.

    I now believe it is an Optus support phone number. I was called by that number over a time when I was purchasing and installing a new National Broadband Network connection. Thanks.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
