Understanding the Calls from 02 8031 1317
The phone number 02 8031 1317 / 0280311317 has been reported by numerous users, predominantly categorising it as a telemarketer linked to the Kids Cancer Project. However, the volume and frequency of the calls have led many to perceive these interactions as annoyances rather than charitable outreach, raising questions about the legitimacy and methodology of such fundraising practices.
A Charity's Outreach or Harassment?
Many recipients of calls from this number have expressed frustration due to the incessant nature of the calls, with reports of multiple instances per week. This perceived harassment stems from the consistency in the outreach; users have recounted receiving several calls in a single day, leading to significant irritability.
User Experiences and Feedback
- Several reviews mention instances where calls are abruptly cut off or hang up upon answering, contributing to the perception of annoyance. This behaviour is indeed concerning as it leaves recipients feeling as though they are being targeted without any clear communication.
- While some reports confirm the charity's attempt to sell raffle tickets as a means of raising funds, the ambiguity surrounding their legitimacy and need for personal details leaves many wary.
- Despite being identified as a charity, the lack of registration certification or compliance with donation ethics leads to user confusion and enhances the view that such calls are barely distinguishable from scams.
Managing Calls from 02 8031 1317
For those struggling with persistent calls from this number, here are some steps you can take:
- Utilise Call Blocking Features: Many modern phones now have built-in features to block incoming calls, helping to ease the annoyance.
- Engage a Call Guardian System: As highlighted by a user, employing devices like the Telstra Call Guardian can sieve out unwanted calls effectively.
- If you choose to engage, confirm the details: Always verify the legitimacy of any charity requesting donations. Remember, legitimate organisations do not require credit card details over the phone without prior verification.
Conclusion
In summary, while 02 8031 1317 / 0280311317 is connected to the Kids Cancer Project and aims to aid a noble cause, the methods employed have sparked significant dissatisfaction among the public. A clear delineation between legitimate outreach and spam isn’t always evident, carefully navigate how you manage unsolicited calls.

What Our Users Reviewed
We get several calls from this and other numbers including in Victoria, fortunately we have a Telstra Call Guardian phone, we can block any numbers we don't want calling us including private calls (as some charities etc are) and overseas numbers, they all go straight to the answering machine the phone doesn't even ring hence we are no longer being disturbed by these nuisance people. All our friends are in the allowed list so we know when the phone does ring it is someone we actually want to talk to. I don't normally advocate companies but this phone has saved us a lot of grief by no longer getting any scam calls or persistant nuisance charities or those annoying survey people which half of those are probably just scammers anyway.
I have had 15 calls from this number over the last 10 days. Sometimes I get 2-3 calls a day. I usually let it go through to the fax. I have tried calling the number, but there is nothing - no ringing or engaged signal. Today when I answered it, it hung up immediately.
Soooo tired of pesky phone pests. Yes, I agree, it is harassment.
I have had 13 calls from this number since 22nd January, they don't let up. I call this harassment.
I have been getting calls every few days. If answered it hangs up. If not it rings until the answer machine clicks in.
They are very annoying, calling two or three times per week. Are they a registered charity?
This number is from Kids Cancer Project seeking donations, call at various hours any day.
Someone from a call centre called me but hang up once I had answered and said hello sounded very busy in the background.
Kids with cancel selling raffle tickets. They offer postal pay and don't need credit card details.
Call centre, wish they would leave me alone.
