    Some company named BAS recruitment, or something along those lines, saying they deal with employment with companies all over Australia and try to ask your situation..

    No doubt trying to sell you some RTO course, but I did not hang around long enough to find out.

    Been calling constantly but my phone App picks it as a telemarketer.

    Like some else suspect from the crud who ran the fake samsung competition/give away.

    That s to "Should I answer?" Didn't waste my time.

    Got a call from this number saying they are a company that handles recruitment in Australia. They knew my name which I'm guessing is because I entered a competition to win an iPhone from a source I thought to be credible at the time but then found out the person's account had been hacked. Really annoying.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
