I received a call from these guys. The girl who answered told me I had registered for a voucher (I hadn't) & then she attempted to identify the place where she was calling from. After several attempts I still could not make out which business it was and then she hung up on me.

Spoke to a guy called Sam telling me I had won a $500 voucher for Woolworths. Only the competition never mentioned it. I knew then it was a scam and asked for his details and company name and he said this number was a Sydney based company and was hazy on the name but supposedly they have been a prize company for last 3 yrs in Sydney. I hanged up and blocked the number.

I cannot identify with certainty the actual source of this number but I believe it is one of those annoying call centres which mindlessly call numbers at random. I have received a number of calls from this number on my private mobile which is only used for emergencies and is registered on the Do Not Call list. It is very upsetting when these people do this because they could be blocking an emergency call from my family members. Beats me why these numbers cannot be simply blocked by Telstra.1142.
