I have been getting a pop-up on my PC for atleast the last week saying my PC is slow, and that tech support is available 24/7. On the top right of the pop-up is a geared wheel signifying settings and an "X" to delete the pop-up. Clicking on the geared wheel gives 2 options:
1. Don't show again,
2. Postpone for 1 week.
Neither of these options eliminates the pop-up.
In fact, they make the pop-up appear more frequently.
Calling their telephone number is met with an unintelligible reply/response.
This number is spam. It goes to a criminal organisation called MyTechGurus Inc, which seeds people's computers with malware then charges them to clean it off. By all means call the number and waste their time, because they sure as hell are wasting yours. Call them a dozen times and give them a false name and phone number and then ask them how much it is going to cost. They will tell you that it will be free to diagnose the problem but $100 to fix it. Then tell them they are crooks and you will report them.
It goes to a "PC Tech Support" in India. THis is a Scamware.
