    Just got a call from this Phone Number, same thing about a car accident, I told her she was a scammer, she said you think so, I said yes and if you want to contact me send me a letter then hung up. My number is a private Number so guess I won't be getting that letter.

    Just had a call about an accident claim - as it turns out I was in an accident as a pedestrian - and he kept saying I was hit whilst sitting in the car - and could claim money. He was very rude, difficult to understand and I told him I would ring him back next week - What idiots they think we are!!

    It's a scam claiming to be from an insurance injury help line. Hang up on them or better still, don't answer this number.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
