    Scammers. Ignore Berry's comment he's part of the scam. Read the other comments. It's a fraud group operating on a large scale. Hang up. Better yet drag out the conversation and waste their time. You might distract and tie up that one person enough to save someone else from being sucked into their scam. That's what I'll do if they call back.

    Yes I too have had a call exactly the same as previous post, re enquiring about a car accident I supposedly had last year, I was at the dentist at the time so asked if he could call back, he spoke so fast I couldn't understand him he didn't call back so I did, he said again do you remember having a car accident I said no he then yells at me well what are you calling me for I replied trying to find out what your on about.. He hung up.. I've just received another call from same phone number stating the same, I told him that someone had already contacted me and was very rude, he says I'll report whoever it was and call you back.. He did explain that although it might not have been that big a deal but there is $3.000 or $4.000 in it as it's been recorded on camera at either a railway station or somewhere. Im now waiting to hear back from him...

    Some Indian guy rang and said he was from NSW RTA calling about an accident I had and wanted me to confirm but because I couldn't confirm he then said it was probably one of my family members who had an accident in my car funny thing is I live in Qld he said accident was in NSW. He knew where I lived as he said my address, I asked him he should have the details of the accident and he said he doesn't... BIG TIME SCAMMERS.

    I also got a call from this number, but I had been in an accident recently so it seemed reasonably legit to begin with. Talked through a few details of the accident but it got more and more suss as time went on though (insisting I could still be injured a couple of months after, etc). Googled the number and found this site and no other site on the internet seems to be identifying this number, definitely suss.

    Exactly the same, contacted me asking about my car accident last year. I told them I was not in a car accident and they immediately hung up on me. Called back several times, each time they denied calling me and found it hard to hear them speaking as other people were talking loudly in the background.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
