I also got a message from this number say I had ATO trouble.
I got a phone call this morning about 10am (26/11/2018) from this number:
061280068549 which an automated voice was speaking stating that they are calling from the Australian Taxation Office. I apparently owed the ATO some amount of money and since they could not get in touch with me they have resorted to filing a legal suit against me and my family. And the ATO has also teamed up with a anti fraudulent team to investigate myself and my family.
I called the number back the number and a male answered the phone. He had a strong accent which sounded like someone who speaks Hindi (apologies if you find this offensive). He asked me (sounded very unprofessional) about my name and other details. And mentioned that the police will call me as soon as he hangs up the phone if I don’t pay him the money. (Dead give away). So I tested him and said can we make a payment arrangement, he said no! U have to pay $2000 today. I said well I cannot pay that amount, he puts it down to $1000, and I persisted with going on a payment plan and he’s reply is the same saying no it doesn't work like that! You have to pay $2000 today, but ill give you this one time to pay $1000 instead only if you agree to pay today. I said ok no worries.
I rang the ATO, and asked if anyone from their department called me this morning. They said no one called, and I also don’t owe them money.
I hope this numb nut goes to HELL and rots.

This experience made me laugh. I had a missed call from this number 02 8006 8549 on my mobile and when I returned the call from my work phone they hung up on me when I introduced myself.
I called back a second time and an Indian sounding gentlemen answered the phone proudly with, "Investigations Department of the Australian Tax Office". He hung up on me when I told him he was awesome!!! lol.

Totally a scam. Claim to be from the ATO and make up badge numbers, Legislative references, etc. Will hang up on you if you keep them going for long enough.
