    American accent spambot claiming a lawsuit was being filed in my name. Said I had to call back immediately or they would put out a warrant for my arrest. They didn't know my name, or give any info on who they were. Total scam, but so poorly executed its laughable.

    Received a call a while ago from this number(02) 8006 4504 ordering me to return the call otherwise they will come to arrest me. Did not state a reason for the arrest. It was a male voice with a threatening note in his voice.

    Cal from (02) 8006 4504 - starting from the recorded message stating "This is call from Australian Taxation Office.. " at which stage I disconnected the call. Beware - this is a scam.. ATO will never call your telephone number.

    SCAM call.

    I didn't answer and a spambot left a message alleging they would issue an arrest warrant for me if I don't call back.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
