Rang my son and said he was going to be arrested if he didn’t return their call. We are in a different state and he is 11 years old. When I call back from a blocked number it rings and disconnects straight away.
Called and said they are from the ATO, obviously a scam. Left a voicemail saying call back or they will have to issue an arrest warrant. Filthy Scammers.
Said from taxation office in Melbourne but this is a Sydney number, spoke with a heavy accent after I questioned him said the line was breaking up and could I ring him back................Scam!!!!!!
I just received a voicemail from this phone number with a computerised voice saying an Arrest Warrant will be issued for my name if I don't return the call. Naturally I assumed it was a scam but decided to call and confirm this with NSW Police. It is indeed a scam and please don't return or take any calls from this number if it happens to come up.
