    Similar call to others.

    Female with Indian accent gave name as Lisa Davis, claimed to be from Bank SA. Said I had been overcharged over a long period (but inside the system so didn't appear on my statement). Had agreed with Government to refund the overcharge with 8% interest. Asked for date of birth which I refused and hung up.

    A lady with an Indian accent saying she is from the Adelaide bank and that I have been over charged fees on my account. She asked me to confirm my d.o.b to which I gave a false one. She however had my address. I asked her what she was actually doing, she said she was not selling anything and that I don't have to apply for my money back if I don't want to. She also made mention of the government.

    Got a call today (3/6/16) from this number. Female with Asian accent saying she was from the Commonwealth Bank and that we had been overcharged due to a technical problem and they were going to repay us the overcharged amount. She then asked me to confirm my birth date to her which I refused. When I questioned her further, she said not all calls are scams and then wished me a nice day and hung up.

    Received a call telling me that she was from Westpac (didn't give her staff number - which I found out all callers should give along with their name when calling from Westpac). Said that she was calling regarding claiming money for us from overcharged bank fees - which didn't apply to us anyway. Tried to ring back - call went to messagebank. Called Westpac - they knew nothing of call - beware !! Don't ever give any info I.e. DOB, account numbers or passwords !!

    Got a call from this number today (1/10/15), female with an Asian accent saying she was from the ANZ Bank and wanted to reimburse my account with some overcharging including 8% interest! Wanted my DOB which I refused to give her. She tried a bit of bullying so I said I would call the ANZ. This upset her and she said she would sent the paperwork.

    The ANZ confirmed it is a scam.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
