    Got a call from this number. They knew my surname. Bad connection. They hung up when I said I couldn't hear them properly.

    I get calls from them and a recorded message is played out to me 'good-bye' and then the person hangs up. It even calls my landline number. It's beyond creepy and I thought it was targeted until I saw these comments. Please get rid of this person and number.

    Just rings then refuses to answer, maybe they are just checking to see what time you are home?????? Either way I do not like it ...

    They asked for someone at my home by surname but did not know the first name. When I said noone by that description was at my home they hung up. It sounded odd so I tried to phone back to ask what they wanted by the call kept getting cut off, first from 'network busy' and then 'call ended' even though I did not hang up the call and it was still ring I ng before it disconnected. Sounds like a scam.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
