I received an email about an order, similar to one I received a couple of weeks ago from a slightly different phone number, (02) 8005 5811. Since I do not have an active PayPal account, I realized that the email was a scam. Interestingly, they had my correct email address. I’ve taken to playing with them by calling repeatedly!
The same warning applies to a letter or email that claims to have a contact number for customer service. It is a scam attempt.
I received an email that appeared to be from PayPal, claiming an order was placed on 24.10.2023. The message, purportedly from Amanda Fayette, stated there was an order for an Apple phone costing $989.99 and that payment had been sent to "aus_digital_seller," requesting the seller to ship the item. Please note that there was no such order made, but they used our email address to create this fraudulent scenario.
